Install Windows XP over Mac OS OnAplle3 IBook G4 by Poida| December 6, 2007 7:31 PM PST Is it at all possible to format and install windows on an apple laptop.
I just purchased an Apple OS X iBook G3 notebook with Airpost card, and I want to be able to print to my HP clj2500L printer on my Netgear (Windows based) local area network. The airport card is recognized OK by the Netgear wireless MR814v2 Cable wireless Router, and can connect to the Internet without any problems. However, from my Windows XP PC I can 'see' all the PCs on the network EXCEPT the Apple. Nor, does the Apple 'see' any of the other PCs on the network. The HP clj2500 is installed as a shared printer two ways: HP Color LaserJet 2500 PCL 6 and HP Color LaserJet PS (post script.) I have the installation CD for the HP clj2500, which allows installation on Macs using OS 8, 9 and 10. If I connect the HP clj2500 to the iBook using USB it prints perfectly. I guess I have two questions, but if I solve the first one it may solve the second one.![Ibook Ibook](http://images.pcworld.com/news/graphics/125325-xpProductKey_b.jpg)
1. How do I get the iBook to appear on the network to the other PCs?
2. How do I install or 'activate' the HP clj2500 PS so the iBook will recognize it and use it as a network printer?
I've spent hours on this thing and keep running into a blank wall. In the iBook print center there never were any 'options' to add, which tells me that it isn't seeing the rest of the network. HELP! I'd like a step-by-step listing of where to go now. Thanks much!
